- In the first Chupacabras event, only 13 participants finished the race.
- There are over 500 volunteers watching for your safety.
- In the last event (2007) 1,383 participants finished the race.
- There is a cyclist known as 'El Guardian' (the Vigil) who is responsible to run the entire trail (especially in the mountain) at the end to make sure NOBODY is left behind.
- Clubs of 4x4 jeeps are available to help you return to the finish site should you or your equipment be unable to continue.
- It takes the entire year to plan the race and carry out all preparation activities.
- Trail maintenance is done by volunteer cyclists.
- You can name a trail for yourself if you maintain it.
- Participants that finished the race in 11 years are 7,111.
- We have had participants from as far as Cancun, New York, California, Oaxaca, Spain & Italy.
- Normally half of the participants complete the race, in 11 years more than 1,000,000 Km. have been ran by all participants.
- The oldest participant in 2007 was a 78 year young gentleman from El Paso Texas.
- Kilometers ran by participants that have finished are 711,100.
- Youngest participants (16 years of age) have been from Juarez.
- 878 cyclists from Ciudad Juarez have participated.
- In 2007, 428 participants were from outside Mexico.
- In 2008, all participants will be insured.
